About The Class
This course will be an overview of the development of Texas from the era of Spanish exploration and colonization to modern time. There will be an emphasis on the major events in the 19th and 20th centuries. Topics will include cultural geography, the Texas Revolution, the Republic of Texas, statehood, secession, Reconstruction, cattle, oil exploration, urbanization, and political, economic, and social change in the post-World War II era.Remind 101
